The Distance Is a Distraction
Do you focus on how far you have to go? Or do you focus on going “brick by brick” and executing the daily actions you need to take to get you there?
Personally, Ive often found myself overwhelmed/discouraged when I look at “how far I still have to go”. In the gym, in my business etc.
Turns out, This kind of mindset can be quite toxic.
Why?
When you focus on how far you have to go, you take yourself away from focusing on what’s most important:
The day to day actions towards becoming the best version of yourself. A lot of people get stuck in this headspace and give up. It’s all too easy.
Instead…go “brick by brick” day by day and look at the actions you need to take to get where you want to go. When you do this, you go on the offense and the process becomes much more positive.
Examples:
“I want to lose 50lbs”➡️I need to pack healthy meals each day and get 4 workouts in this week.
“I want to add 100 lbs to my deadlift”➡️I need to focus on my nutrition, recovery and taking my accessory work seriously.
“I want to build a legacy as a successful fitness coach”➡️I need to put my best effort into writing my programs to get my clients results, and put out value content daily to help others achieve their own success+ reach the masses.
Focus on your daily actions+ the process first. The results will come.
